A lot has happened in the past month since starting at Runway. One of the first things I did is get new signage for my door.
Anyone who’s watched The Bear and Ted Lasso will know the significance of these. I love the ethos they embody (iykyk).
Then I took PTO to celebrate a friends bachelor party in Estes Park. We played disc golf and lost 8/12 discs because we were bad.
I had some 🍄 & 🌿 in RMNP and melted into the trees during our hike. I also beat everyone in Catan because I’m awesome.

I flew out to SF for a week to onboard with the rest of the new sales hires. I met up with friends, prospects, ran a half marathon to the Golden Gate Bridge, and rode in my CEO’s self-driving Tesla to karaoke where we sang our lungs out for several hours.

I even went viral on LinkedIn for this ridiculous post I made about working out and selling to finance people. Thousands of people made fun of me and it was hilarious.
To be fair — I did get ahead of myself with squatting 315 for reps. I can probably do 5-8 box squats at 315 lbs, which I thought was harder, but, is apparently not.
My CEO loved it. The art of pissing people off and capturing eyeballs online is a lot of fun.
David Perell’s post on alcohol was one of the best things I’ve read in a long time. As someone who’s gone back and forth between being 100% sober and experimenting with various degrees of substance/alcohol consumption, his view on ‘a little bit of drinking’ helped me reflect more on what I want my relationship with alcohol to be.
Since I couldn’t sleep and came across his post in the middle of the night, I ended up doing a reflection on what I want my ideal relationship with alcohol to look like. Here’s where I landed.
Being clear-headed, having high energy, and not allowing alcohol to interfere with my goals is priority #1. Having more than 2+ drinks for more than 2+ nights usually does.
Nowadays, I tend to drink when I’m surrounded by others who are drinking and we’re making once in a lifetime memories.
The number of times I’ll be in Rocky Mountain National Park for my friends bachelor party and singing Pink Pony Club with my CEO is approximately once.
The last interesting thing a friend sent me was this post from Nick Bare. I started following him 2 years ago and became a huge fan.
While I was raised a Christian, and I don’t identify as one now (at least not in the traditional sense), faith is still a core part of who I am.
It’s been so nice to see my relationship with God grow over the past few years and the way he re-entered my life, through people I’m inspired by, has been cool to see.
I’m still playing with the format of this blog. I want to keep it more personal, and huge walls of text tend to bore me, but I also don’t want to add too many pictures.
This post was a mix of my camera roll, most memorable experiences, favorite reads and songs in the past month.
Some books I’ve read & am reading through now:
Scary Close by Don Miller
One of the best books I’ve read on intimacy, dropping your masks, and embracing vulnerability to build real, lasting, relationships. 10/10*
The Mastery of Love by don Miguel Ruiz
Nothing super notable here. 6/10*
Unreasonable Hospitality by William Guidara
Another absolute banger on what it takes to be great. Great anecdotes from running the #1 restaurant in the world. Amazing attention to details. 10/10*
Mastering the King, Warrior, Magician, Lover Within by Devon Gates
Great frameworks expanding on concepts I already heard of. A big dense and not super fun and easy to listen to on Audible. 7.5/10*
One month ago, I went through a difficult interview process. I was rejected by many companies I was excited by.
A month before that, I hit one of my lowest points of my life. I realized entrepreneurship wasn’t the right path for me anymore, after 2 years.
Now, I’ve got two more trips in September. I’m working ~7 deals. I’m building great relationships with friends, family, and colleagues; and I started dating again.
I haven’t missed a workout in 35+ days, and even though I experience many lows, the momentum, growth, and joy I felt this past month is higher than ever. 8.2/10
I have a solid pipeline of deals. I’m collaborating with teams beyond sales, and I’m using AI to make things faster and easier. My brain is growing a ton.
I’m making time to play with my pup, eat healthy, average 16K steps a day, and call people — though — I could use more local friends and have a better romantic life.
Sometimes, it helps to reflect on what you did to see how far you’ve come. The past 30 days have felt surreal and I’m excited to keep the momentum going.
Until next time. 🫡
